We are able to ship personal effects by sea even if they do not make a full container load (this is known as a 'less than container load or LCL).
LCL shipments can be arranged from our facility to the overseas port.
You deliver your ready packed goods to our facility; we then sort the goods to ascertain the total L x W x H and weight which governs the price based on a combination of the total cubic meters and the total weight.
All goods should be wrapped and packed into strong cardboard moving boxes. Larger items such as dressers, tables, chairs, should be blanket wrapped, bed mattresses to be wrapped with thick plastic.Pallets Versus Crates ?
- Crates offer maximum protection for your personal effects but at extra cost.
- Pallets are cheaper. However, plastic wrapped boxes on a pallet do not offer the level of protection of crates.
- Points to consider are whether items are, fragile, breakable or of significant value
Example
A student shipping books and cloths can save money by opting for a "pallet and plastic wrapping" of the goods.
If the student has a computer then a crate is the sensible way to go.
Marine Insurance is also an option: crated goods qualify for an "all risk" policy but palletised goods only qualify for a "total loss" policy.
Customers can deliver the goods to our facility by appointment
Consider renting a van or truck if your shipment is large.
Note
A Cubic Meter is equivalent to 39"L x 39"W x 39"H inches. Ocean Freight shipments moving LCL are charged on a prorated basis. Therefore, if you have 3.3 Cubic Meters you pay for 3.3CBM not 4CBM.
Enter the height x width x length in the calculator to estimate the cubic metres of your load.
